Designing Naturalistic Landscapes
Gardening for Pollinators and Birds
Managing Invasive Plants
Controlling Mosquitoes Sustainably
The Symposium addresses the question: how can we plant and manage our urban landscapes so that they offer a wide scope for the processes of nature while also accommodating the needs of city dwellers.
We have invited four speakers whose work is at the forefront of sustainable landscape design and management and environmental education. They will give their presentations in the morning. After lunch, participants depart for urban field trips of their choice at a local park, a mature garden or landscaped area, or at one of several stream buffer planting for an on-site appreciation of the issues under discussion.
Our symposium intends to address landscape professionals, gardeners and home owners. CEUs are pending.
